Joe’s passion for permaculture, sustainability, recycling and resource management brought him back to his home country Malawi. After 20 years of living in the UK, he felt inspired to create the community and educational space called Masamba Gardens in the heart of Lilongwe, Capital City, which opened its doors in 2017, offering wholesome traditionally prepared food and a place to meet and connect on the shores of the Lilongwe River. Having grown up here, Joe witnessed the changes in Malawi in the ecological space and hopes to contribute his expertise to bring change in the coming years. A World traveller at heart, Amba has travelled extensively and lived in four continents, namely Asia, Europe, South America and now Africa. Passionate about learning and better understanding cultural landscapes, traditional wisdom and the human mind, she quit her corporate career in Marketing, Management and Event planning and set out on a journey across Southern, Eastern Africa in her Landrover Defender TD5 110, spanning numerous countries and uncountable travel stories and encounters. Over a year on the Road and now settled in Malawi, she hopes to bring a wholistic, soulful and immersive approach to travel in the region. Amba feels inspired to share her love for the Vast African Planes, her hands-on experience on the road and her knowledge of traditional and alternative healing to facilitate a deeper connection to self, nature, people and the lands through a travel adventure.
